One of my favorite shots from Langkawi - this was at a different place called 'Mutiara Burau Bay Resort'. As the name suggests, it was a much more 'resort-ish' place and I wasn't that keen on it, so the next day I moved back to Tanjung Sanctuary. But not before spending a stunning afternoon/evening on the local beach watching a simply staggering sunset. No filters were used on the lens, and no filters were used in photoshop. I also left this photo completely unsharpened.

(I wasn't sure whether to file this under 'waterscape' or 'sky', but eventually went with sky.)

My sincere congratulations for this awesome photograph my friend!!
I`m in love with sunsets... but this one is the hit!!!:wow:

Where did you take it:?
oh wow nice set. yeah i think if you use filters on it you would loose the nice orange glow thats so natural in it. i usually compare the fixed levels image to the non-fixed levels to see which one looks more real/beautiful. wonderful shot though!

Sticks and stones,
May break my bones.
But whips and chains excite me
Hi Miriam - thanks very much for the kind comments! I took this in Langkawi, a small-ish island off the coast of Malaysia. I was there for 11 days or so, back in January. Truly a remarkable island which I hope to go back to one day. :)
Thanks Nabi, appreciate the comment! I've been living in Korea since 2001 so getting out to a much more tropical place like Langkawi and seeing some pure sunsets again was so good. Glad you like the shot and I agree with your thoughts on filters. I've uploaded a photo ages back, in which I used a graduated pink filter in front of the lens - interesting effect! All other photos I have uploaded here are filter free, or occasionally I screw on a circular polarizing one.
Wow!!! then I must go to!!
I think that you have enjoyed a lot that vacation...:D
And the best rewards are this great pictures that you have...

I hope I can go there someday...

Hope you`re well!! You have an awesome gallery Andrew!!:deviation:
